Iconography

Jesus was about life and love and spiritual redemption not religion". A conclusion I have come to, at 62 years of age, primarily based on my staunch Catholic upbringing and over which I have had spiritual battles of faith all my life. From my earliest childhood my inquisitiveness and confusion over this Carpenter from Galilee (and the old Masters of the Arts), has inspired me to concentrate on iconography and to be as graphically realistic as possible which has continued to this very day.
My first icon image is a penned effort I did when I was only ten. The one current relic which I personally firmly believe to be the blooded image of Jesus crucified is "The Shroud of Turin" and upon which I have based many of my works. Through all my entire periods of agnosticism (and yes even atheism), this haunting image of Christ which still defies all scientific logic to date is the one reminder of my deep love and belief in my Christ and his teachings. In terms of "sending messages through imagery", my "Peter where are you" and "Behold the Hand" I consider to be the most theologically significant.
